Supporting TATA Steel Trostre, the Cornerstone of Our Manufacturing Heritage

Along with my colleagues Francesca O’Brien MS and Steven Rodaway MS I was delighted to welcome Richard Tice MP to Tata Steel’s Trostre plant in Llanelli today.

Trostre is a cornerstone of our manufacturing heritage and a crucial engine for the West Wales economy.

This site directly provides hundreds of highly skilled, well-paid jobs for local workers.

It also supports thousands of vital spin-off roles across local supply chains throughout Carmarthenshire.

When manufacturing thrives here, our local high streets and small businesses thrive alongside it.

At Reform UK, our position on standing up for British industry is crystal clear.

We believe in putting British manufacturing, British jobs, and local communities first. We take a completely different stance on Net Zero climate policies compared to the other main parties.

Obsessive Net Zero mandates put unreasonable pressure on UK industries through soaring energy costs and red tape.

Exporting our industrial capacity overseas to countries with lower standards does nothing to help the planet. It simply destroys local jobs, undermines energy security, and damages local livelihoods right here in Carmarthenshire.

Reform UK stands for pragmatic solutions that protect our steelworks and lower energy bills for key employers. We need economic policy that fosters industrial growth, secures employment, and ensures sites like Trostre can prosper long into the future.

Thank you to Richard Tice MP for joining us today, and thank you to the dedicated workforce at Trostre for everything you do.
